We're pleased to announce that last week, our food packaging facility in Portland, Oregon, passed an audit to become recertified by the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Institute for Level 2: Certified HACCP Based Food Safety Plans.
The SQF Institute's mission is to deliver consistent, globally recognized food safety and quality certification programs based on sound scientific principles, consistently applied across all industry sectors, and valued by all stakeholders.
We've always been committed to food packaging certifications, having long had FDA certified compliant clean rooms and certifications for organic and gluten-free foods, among many others. SQF is the only program recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) that is headquartered outside of Europe, and now that we've entered the export market, we wanted to hold an internationally-recognized standard.
SQF certification is also highly-regarded by retailers and food-service providers for its rigor and credibility, as the process requires suppliers to provide verifiable proof that robust food safety control systems have been effectively implemented. Our technical director of food safety led the process, with the assistance and support of nearly every member of our team, from warehouse workers to our facility manager all the way up to the CEO.
Our customers, wherever they may be, can rest assured that DePaul Packaging's quality programs have been validated and show evidence of continuous monitoring procedures.
